Flu Vaccinations

Flu vaccination is an important part of staying healthy and protecting yourself from the flu virus. Over 65’s are eligible for the flu vaccination, you should contact us today to book an appointment.

The vaccine is a safe and effective way to protect against the virus and helps to reduce the risk of serious complications like pneumonia. It is also recommended for people with certain medical conditions, pregnant women, and those who work in healthcare settings.

The vaccine is available free of charge from the NHS if you are over 50 or deemed to be in at ‘at risk group’.

You are at risk if you:

  • Over 65
  • Are pregnant
  • Have a long-term health condition i.e., diabetes, COPD, chronic heart disease
  • Have a learning disability
  • Are the main carer for someone who is at risk of Covid-19, or whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill

The vaccine is quick, fairly painless, and can be administered by a doctor or nurse. It is important to remember that the flu vaccination does not guarantee protection from the virus, but it does help to reduce the risk of catching it and reduce the severity of any symptoms.
